Oral Surgery

Many dental problems require oral surgery to resolve. There are various reasons why a tooth may need to be extracted. It is essential that this procedure is carried out professionally and in a minimally invasive way, preserving the surrounding hard and soft tissues. Thanks to our in-house 3D CBCT, we aim to replace lost teeth immediately whenever possible by placing a dental implant and temporary crown at the time of extraction.

Due to lack of space, lower wisdom teeth often cannot erupt properly or contribute effectively to chewing. If they grow at an angle and press against the second molar in front of them, they can lead to root resorption or decay. Partially erupted wisdom teeth are often surrounded by excess soft tissues that are hard to maintain clean, leading to recurring infections, significant pain, facial swelling, or even lockjaw. Cysts can form around unerupted wisdom teeth or as a result of chronic inflammation, often without noticeable symptoms — sometimes reaching considerable size before being diagnosed.

During orthodontic treatment, it may be necessary to extract premolars due to crowding, or to surgically expose impacted canines to help guide them into the dental arch. A specialized form of surgical-orthodontic treatment is the placement of an orthodontic miniplate, which serves as a stable skeletal anchorage point to move teeth effectively.

At our clinic, all oral surgical procedures are performed exclusively by Dr. Attila Iványi, a specialist in oral surgery. Thanks to his ongoing clinical work at Semmelweis University, he routinely performs complex surgeries with a focus on minimizing surgical exposure and reducing operative time whenever possible.
